Regional Native Plants of Particular Interest: Lavatera assurgentifolia ssp. assurgentifolia - medium to large bush

(Click on underlined title to see more) Island Tree Mallow(Lavatera assurgentifolia), Northern Channel Islands endemic, from Tukan to Anyapax, related to Hibiscus.  Deep pink flowers are the usual offering.  Blooms most of the year.  Gets about 10 feet all around.  Somewhat resembles Lavatera maritima, which is more commonly available and seems more resilient/tolerant of variable care, and which is native to the Mediterranean region.  Top photo shows L. assurg. with a Leymus triticoides blue-green variety below it, and the blooms of Eriogonum giganteum in foreground.
