Regional Native Plants of Particular Interest: Pinus Torreyana, Torrey Pine
The Torrey Pine, at the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. A big pine with adequate water. Or smaller with less, as seen in the bottom photo. Pines growing in residential situations typically get bigger than those in the wild due to much more water availability. With trimming and minimal or no dry season irrigation they can be kept as small trees like a large bonsai, of a 'patio tree' size scale.
